Yes, I have three first names. People often mistake my first for Justin, or if you’re my mom, Freddy, the family dog. She might be onto something because creatively I am a mutt, with twenty years experience across a variety of areas like feature and short films, television, music videos, and advertising.
Growing up I was a runt. An underdog. Picked last in school yard sports. Too small to adequately warm the bench. It was in the movie theater, where the seats are way more comfortable, that I discovered a medium that loved underdogs. Championed them. Made them heroes who rose above the grips of limitation to reach their true potential while inspiring others to do the same.
To this day, I bring that mentality to every project. Because, as filmmakers, we’re all underdogs, up against ticking clocks, a lack of money and resources, or onslaughts of ever changing circumstances. Whether it’s your independent low budget feature, a visually stunning music video, branded content, or anything in between, regardless of your budget, I enlist a diverse array of skills that deliver production value far beyond what you pay for.
I revel in work shopping characters with actors, discussing their interpretations, giving them the tools they need to perform at their best. In advertising, I edited and motion designed for high profile clients. On Snapchat’s Dead Girl’s Detective Agency, I was responsible for delivering over 250 visual effects shots, from teleporting characters, to background clean up, to screen comping - you name it - all in the span of three months. A hot up and coming band needs a cutting edge music video? I’m your guy. A musician myself, I know how to interpret their needs, build trust, and use my eclectic skill set to provide a visual experience that cuts above the rest.
So, you might be thinking, “he sounds all over the place!” And you’re right. While I may not always be mixing score, roto-scoping a character’s hair follicles, or tracking the stars into a day for night scene, my eclectic hands-on experience affords me the ability to speak everyone’s language, from creative to client, and lead with clarity and purpose.
When I’m not at my keyboard developing my first feature film, you can find me plucking bass strings with my band Honeywreck, figure drawing at Kline Academy every Saturday, or taking full advantage of AMC A-List.
Let's Jam
Thank you!
